Ook vandaag kiezen veel kunstenaars voor brons voor zeer uiteenlopende creaties, van figuratief werk tot onderzoek dat ver afstaat van de figuratieve weergave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een bronzen beeld is dus niet hedendaags vanwege het materiaal, maar door de manier waarop de kunstenaar ermee werkt. Het onderwerp, de keuze van vormen en vooral de gevoeligheid die eruit spreekt, zorgen ervoor dat een eeuwenoude techniek op natuurlijke wijze haar plaats vindt in onze tijd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modern of hedendaags: wat is het verschil?<br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De termen \u2018moderne bronzen beeldhouwkunst\u2019 en \u2018hedendaagse bronzen beeldhouwkunst\u2019 worden vaak gebruikt om hetzelfde aan te duiden. In het dagelijkse taalgebruik verwijst \u2018modern\u2019 doorgaans naar werk dat afstand neemt van klassieke modellen en meer aansluit bij de smaak van vandaag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In de kunstgeschiedenis verwijst \u2018moderne kunst\u2019 echter naar een periode die voorafgaat aan de hedendaagse kunst. Wanneer het gaat om een levende kunstenaar en werk dat vandaag wordt gemaakt, is \u2018hedendaagse beeldhouwkunst\u2019 dan ook de nauwkeurigere term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dit onderscheid verklaart waarom beide termen naast elkaar worden gebruikt, zonder dat ze voor iemand die op zoek is naar beeldhouwkunst van vandaag noodzakelijkerwijs twee verschillende categorie\u00ebn aanduiden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kan figuratieve beeldhouwkunst nog hedendaags zijn?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hedendaagse kunst hoeft niet abstract te zijn of te breken met de figuratieve weergave. Een figuratief werk kan volkomen van deze tijd zijn zonder de werkelijkheid getrouw te willen weergeven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wat telt, is de blik van de kunstenaar op het onderwerp en de vrijheid waarmee het wordt ge\u00efnterpreteerd. Sommige werken leggen de nadruk op de houding, andere op beweging of een meer innerlijk gevoel. Hij zoekt vooral naar rustige houdingen en een natuurlijke uitstraling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sommige sculpturen roepen reizen, wachten of een moment van rust op. Andere laten meer ruimte aan wie ze ontdekt. Die eenvoud geeft iedereen de vrijheid om een eigen band met het werk op te bouwen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De keuze voor brons sluit aan bij deze benadering zonder zelf het onderwerp te worden.
