Een onderwerp, een bepaalde manier om vormen te behandelen of enkele terugkerende elementen kunnen volstaan om die herkenbaarheid te cre\u00ebren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die identiteit ligt echter niet noodzakelijk vast aan het begin van een artistiek parcours. Sommige zoektochten blijven zonder vervolg, terwijl andere zich vanzelf ontwikkelen en regelmatig terugkeren in het werk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Geleidelijk ontstaan keuzes die niet langer toevallig zijn: onderwerpen waarnaar de kunstenaar terugkeert, een bepaalde manier van modelleren, bepaalde verhoudingen of een eigen manier om een houding te benaderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De artistieke identiteit ontstaat voor een groot deel uit deze continu\u00efteit. Ze sluit evolutie of nieuwe zoektochten niet uit, maar die verrijken een werk waarvan de fundamenten al herkenbaar zijn.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat het werk van een kunstenaar herkenbaar maakt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Er is niet \u00e9\u00e9n element dat een stijl bepaalt. Het onderwerp kan een belangrijke rol spelen, maar volstaat niet: twee beeldhouwers die met hetzelfde model werken, kunnen tot heel verschillende sculpturen komen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De manier waarop vormen worden vereenvoudigd of juist verfijnd, de gekozen verhoudingen, de behandeling van oppervlakken, de houdingen en de manier waarop een materiaal wordt gebruikt, dragen eveneens bij aan deze identiteit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Na verloop van tijd vormen deze keuzes een eigen beeldtaal van de kunstenaar. Daardoor kan zijn werk soms worden herkend zonder handtekening en zonder de titel van de sculptuur te kennen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een eigen identiteit betekent geen herhaling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:70%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herkenbaar zijn betekent niet dat een kunstenaar voortdurend dezelfde sculptuur maakt. Integendeel, een voldoende ontwikkelde artistieke identiteit maakt het mogelijk om nieuwe onderwerpen te verkennen zonder te verliezen wat het werk kenmerkt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het werk kan vervolgens evolueren door subtiele veranderingen: een nieuwe houding, een ander formaat, de introductie van draperie of een andere manier om oppervlakken te behandelen. Ze kregen geleidelijk vorm door de praktijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De keuze om zich toe te leggen op het vrouwelijke werd een constante. Zijn sculpturen geven de voorkeur aan rustige houdingen, met een streven naar elegantie en verfijning dat zowel in de naakten als in de gedrapeerde sculpturen terugkomt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Van de ene sculptuur tot de andere veranderen de modellen en houdingen, maar deze richting blijft behouden.
