THE ARTIST

Born in Brittany in 1962, Alain Choisnet has always been fascinated by materials, form and the ability of a simple gesture to convey emotion. A self-taught sculptor, he explored a wide range of techniques before devoting his work to a more intimate artistic language centred on the timeless feminine.

Bronze became the natural medium for expressing what matters most to him: serenity, quiet emotion and inner balance. Through simple, graceful attitudes, he seeks to reveal the beauty of the human spirit. His sculptures favour authenticity over effect, and elegance over spectacle.

His work has been exhibited throughout France and internationally, including Paris, Brussels, Geneva, London, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Over the years, he has also been invited as Guest of Honour at numerous contemporary art exhibitions and is represented by galleries in both France and Belgium.

A recipient of the Medal of the Académie Arts-Sciences-Lettres, Alain Choisnet is also represented by Daum, the renowned French crystal factory, which selected two of his sculptures for limited-edition crystal editions. His career has been further recognised through numerous awards and Guest of Honour invitations at contemporary art exhibitions.
